Advice for agriculture
Agribusiness insurance explained
I advise you on purchasing insurance for your agricultural production or your agribusiness, and I act as intermediary with insurance companies authorized by the Central Bank of Paraguay (BCP).
Agribusiness insurance is designed for producers and companies linked to agriculture and the agricultural industry. Depending on the policy, it may cover both the farming activity and the processing, storage and marketing of the products.
What is agribusiness insurance?
Agribusiness insurance consists of policies issued by insurance companies for producers and companies in the agricultural and agribusiness sector. Depending on the plan purchased, they usually include crop damage from adverse weather events, such as hail, drought or frost, and the financial losses resulting from that damage.
They may also cover silos, sheds, farm machinery and processing equipment against fire, theft or accidents, civil liability for third-party damage and, in some cases, products during storage and transport. The conditions depend on the area, the crop, the season and each company, so it is advisable to request the quote well ahead of planting.
Why arrange your agribusiness insurance through me?
I am Cinthia Careaga de Camé, Insurance Agent with License No. 2552, and I serve clients from Hernandarias, in Alto Paraná, an area of strong agricultural activity. My role is to advise you and act as intermediary with the insurance companies authorized by the Central Bank of Paraguay (BCP); they are the ones that issue the policy, assess the damage and pay compensation.
- Analysis of your production: I review with you the crops, acreage, facilities and machinery that are worth insuring.
- Proposals explained: I help you compare covered risks, deductibles, exclusions and purchase deadlines.
- Support: I manage your policy and, in the event of a claim, I guide you in reporting it within the required deadlines and follow up with the company.
What do I need to request a quote?
Information about the producer and the assets or crops to be insured is generally needed. The insurance company may ask for additional data or carry out an inspection.
- National ID card or RUC (tax ID) of the producer or the company.
- Location of the farm or facilities.
- Crop, planted area and estimated planting and harvest dates.
- Expected yield or estimated value of the production.
- Details and value of silos, sheds, machinery and equipment, if you want to insure them.
The quote is a no-obligation request and does not commit you to purchase.
